Humane America Animal Foundation was founded by David Meyer, Amy Luwis and Doug McKee in 2000, initially to fund a project to end the killing of companion animals in Los Angeles animal shelters. Its scope quickly expanded to more broadly launching innovative programs that improve the lives of animals and people across the entire country and beyond.
